AccessibilityWhat works today.
An honest list, checked against the app itself. FourEver Timer 2.0 for iPhone and Apple Watch.
Supported
VoiceOver on iPhone
Buttons, timers, the editor, the workout screen, History, Settings and the Live Activity have spoken names and values.
Decorative graphics are hidden, and related details are read together, so the timer reads as one phrase, like “Work, 0:14 remaining”, or “…, paused”.
Extra VoiceOver actions where a gesture would be hard: edit a timer from the list, unlock the workout controls, expand or collapse the control dock.
Reduce Motion
With Reduce Motion on, onboarding, the paywall, the workout screen and the controls swap their animations for simple fades or stay still.
Light and Dark
FourEver follows your iPhone’s appearance, or you can choose Light or Dark in Settings.
Increase Contrast on the workout screen
With Increase Contrast on, the workout and sequence screens draw stronger outlines around cards and controls.
Cues you don’t have to see
Every interval change can be announced by sound, by voice (the phase or the exercise name), and by haptics on iPhone and Apple Watch.
A countdown of the last three seconds, and spoken cues, keep you on pace without looking at the screen.
In progress
Not ready to promise yet. These move to “Supported” once they work for every common task: creating, starting, pausing, skipping and finishing a workout, and reading your history.
- Larger TextMost text follows your text size, but some screens still use fixed sizes and haven’t been tested at the largest accessibility sizes.
- Voice ControlButtons have names Voice Control can use, but the app hasn’t been tested end to end with Voice Control yet.
- VoiceOver on Apple WatchThe Watch app uses standard controls, which VoiceOver reads, but it doesn’t have custom labels yet.
- Differentiate Without ColourPhases show their name and an icon as well as a colour, but this setting isn’t handled specially yet.
Languages
The app, its voice cues and Siri speak English, German, Russian and Ukrainian. FourEver has no video, so captions and audio descriptions don’t apply.
Something in your way?
If anything in FourEver is hard to use with the way you use your iPhone, tell me. It goes straight to me, and it moves that fix up the list.
